A SWMM network and any associated database items, which have been used in a SWMM run, can be exported from SWMM simulation to a file in the SWMM5 format.
Network data from the version of the network and the scenario that was used in the run for the selected simulation will be exported. Time varying data such as a rainfall event or SWMM Climatology, which were also used in the simulation, will also be exported to the same file.
Note the results of a SWMM simulation will not be included in the export. See the Exporting Results to Files topic for information about exporting simulation results.
To export network data and associated database items from a SWMM simulation
- In the
Explorer window, right-click on the simulation that is to be exported. This can be a successfully completed (
) simulation or a simulation that is completed but with warnings (
).
- Select Export
to SWMM5 from the popup menu.
A Save AS dialog will be displayed. In this dialog:
- Specify a file name for the file that the data is to be exported to.
- Select which encoding system is to be used to encode the exported text file from the Encoding dropdown list. Currently supported systems are ANSI, UTF-8 (default) and UTF-8 BOM.
- Click on OK to export the data to the file. The file will be saved with a default file extension INP.
Data from the version of the network, the scenario and the time varying data that were used in the simulation will be exported to the specified file.
A comment is also added to the INP file to indicate which type of encoding system was used for the export.
