If you are using an Autodesk licence, you will be assigned a monthly quota for cloud simulation usage. When you run simulations, InfoWorks ICM checks the monthly balance to see whether or not your quota is exceeded.
If your quota is not exceeded, the simulation jobs are pre-processed locally and then uploaded immediately to the cloud. They are queued in the cloud waiting for available instances, which then process the jobs in parallel.
If the quota is exceeded, a message is displayed warning you that you have exceeded your monthly quota and that the simulations jobs will run in sequence rather than in parallel.
This means that the jobs will be pre-processed locally as normal, and then put in a local agent job queue rather than being immediately uploaded to the cloud. Each job is only uploaded when the previous job is complete (in sequence).
The status of a queued job is set to Waiting (compute restricted) in the Job Control window. For example:
When a job is uploaded, it is processed when an instance becomes available. When complete, the next job is uploaded and then processed when an instance becomes available, and so on until all the jobs in the local agent queue are complete.
When the quota is reset at the start of the next calendar month (midnight UTC), any jobs already in the queue, and any new jobs, will be processed in parallel until the monthly simulation quota is reached.
