To Work with Icons, Tooltips

Turn off tooltips and control their appearance and timing.

Control Colors of Icons

Inventor uses a default light theme for the application frame and icons. The legacy amber icons can be used in place of the light theme icons. To use the amber icons do the following:

1. On the ribbon, click Tools tab Options panel Application Options.
2. On the Colors tab and in UI Theme select Amber.
3. Click Apply.

Turn Tooltips On or Off

Tooltips provide a short description of a command.

1. On the ribbon, click Tools tab Options panel Application Options .
2. On the General tab, in Tooltip Appearance, select, or clear the check box for Show Tooltips.
3. Click OK.

Control Timing of Second-level Tooltips

1. On the ribbon, click Tools tab Options panel Application Options .
2. On the General tab, in Tooltip Appearance, click arrows to specify the duration of the display of the second-level tooltip.
3. Click OK.
