Place one or more parts or subassemblies in an assembly file.
On the ribbon, click
Assemble tabPattern panelPattern
.
In the browser or the graphics window, select one or more components to pattern.
To specify column and row spacing, click the Rectangular tab.
In the Column section
Click the direction selector, or the flyout and select an origin axis as the direction vector. Clicking either activates the selector.
Note: Clicking the selector doesn't empty the select set. The selection is cleared when a new selection is made.
If not using an origin axis, select an edge, work axis, or face as the direction source.
Note: For planar faces, the face normal is used for the direction. For revolved or cylindrical faces, the face axis is used as the direction.
If needed, click Flip to change the column direction,
Enter the count (number of features) for the column and the spacing between features.
In the Row section, which has the same behaviors as the Column section,
Click the direction selector, or the flyout and select an origin axis as the direction vector.
Enter the count and spacing.
Click Flip to reverse row direction, if desired.
To associate component patterns with feature patterns, click the Associative tab.
Click the selection arrow. In the graphics window, select an occurrence of a feature in a pattern (not the original feature).
Components are copied in the placement and spacing of the feature pattern. Changes made to the feature pattern automatically update the number and spacing of the components in the assembly pattern.
