To work with Lifters

Create a standard lifter

  1. In the Mold Assembly tab, click Lifter.
  2. In the Lifter dialog box, select a lifter from the Type drop-down list. The list includes an image with the vendor and category of each lifter type.
  3. Click Plastic Part and then in the graphics window, select a plastic part.
  4. Set the pull direction:
    1. Click Pull Direction and then in the graphics window, select an edge, face, or planar surface as a reference.
    2. To reverse the pull direction, click the Pull Direction face button.
    3. Enter a pull direction offset value.
  5. Set the base point
    1. Click Base Point and then in the graphics window, select a point on which to place the lifter.
    2. Enter a value for the base point offset.
  6. In Drawing Distance, enter a value for Lifter Angle. The maximum travel length automatically calculates as a reference value.
  7. Click Generic detailed preview to update the preview in the graphics window.
  8. Click OK or Apply.

Create a customized lifter

  1. In the Mold Assembly tab, click Lifter.
  2. In the Lifter dialog box, select a lifter in the Type drop-down list. The list includes an image with the vendor and category of each lifter type.
  3. Select the Customize check box.
  4. In Components, select a component to customize.
  5. Next to the selected component, click Properties. A dialog box for the component type display.
  6. Modify Size and Dimensions.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Plastic Part and then in the graphics window, select a plastic part.
  9. Set the pull direction:
    1. Click Pull Direction and then in the graphics window, select an edge, face, or planar surface as a reference.
    2. To reverse the pull direction, click the Pull Direction face button.
    3. Enter a value for the pull direction offset.
  10. Set the base point
    1. Click Base Point and then in the graphics window, select a point on which to place the lifter.
    2. Enter a value for the base point offset:
  11. In Drawing Distance, enter a value for Lifter Angle. The maximum travel length automatically calculates as a reference value.
  12. Click Generic detailed preview to update the preview in the graphics window.
  13. Click OK or Apply.

Import and export a lifter as a template

  1. In the Mold Assembly tab, click Lifter.
  2. To import a lifter template:
    1. Click Import Size.
    2. In the Open dialog box, locate and select a template file.
    3. Click Open.
  3. To export a lifter as a template
    1. Click Save Size.
    2. In the Save As dialog box, navigate to the folder in which to save the template.
    3. Enter a name for the template.
    4. Click Save.

Edit a lifter

  1. In the Mold Design browser, under Lifter Assemblies, right-click a Lifter Assembly node, and then click Edit Feature.
  2. In the Lifter dialog box, modify the parameters.
  3. Click OK.

Delete a lifter
