Use this dialog box to specify the properties of a new or existing scale bar.
- Scale Bar Division
- Specify the distance between each scale bar division. Enter a number and select a unit from the drop-down list. For example, to specify a division of 1000 miles, enter 1000 and select Miles from the drop-down list.
- Label
- Optionally enter a different label for the units. For example, you can change Kilometers to KM.
Note: If you change the unit later, your label entry will be overwritten with the default unit label. For example, if you switch from Kilometers to Miles, your KM label will automatically change to Miles.
- Adjust Divisions On Zoom
- When you select this option and zoom the map in the viewport, the length of the division lines change, and the division value adjusts automatically. If this results in a fractional scale, the floating toolbar displays a warning. If you leave this option unselected and zoom the map in the viewport, the scale bar size adjusts and the division text is unchanged.
- Scale Ratio
- Specify the scale of the map associated with this scale bar's viewport. Enter the scale ratio using the format 1:xxxxx, for example, 1:10000.
