Create a transition between shots

You can create fade or dissolve transitions between shots in the Camera Sequencer.
Note: Each shot must have a playblast attached for transitions to work. See Playblast camera shots.

There is a different process for creating a transition between shots, depending on whether the shots are on single or multiple tracks:

Multi-Track Transitions

Expand the Transition Attributes section for the shot in the Attribute Editor and set the Transition In Type or Transition Out Type attribute to select the type of transition you would like:

Fade
Creates a fade from or to black on the current shot.
Dissolve
Creates a cross-dissolve between the current shot and the next top-most shot on a track beneath it in the Camera Sequencer.

Single-Track Transitions

You can also create a dissolve transition between shots on the same track. Ctrl-drag the selected shot over the shot with which you want to transition In the Camera Sequencer. Adjust the length of the transition by sliding the shots along the track in the sequencer.
Note: You do not have to hold Ctrl while dragging, except for the initial step in creating the single track transition.
