Edit motion trail properties

By default, motion trails display as red lines with white keyframes and pink timing beads. You can edit these colors and other display properties using the Channel Box or Attribute Editor.

Note: When visible, tangents display in the same color as they are set to display in the Graph Editor.

To edit motion trail properties

  1. Do one of the following to display the motion trail attributes:
    • Select the motion trail or any key displaying on the motion trail then select the motionTrailnHandleShape object in the Attribute Editor or Channel Box.
    • Right-click the motion trail and select motionTrailnHandle from the menu that appears.

    All motion trail color attributes display under the heading MotionTrailShape Attributes.

  2. Adjust the properties as required. See Motion Trail properties for examples of the settings.

Hide or Delete a motion trail

To delete a motion trail

    Select the motion trail in the Outliner (it will be named something like motionTrail1Handle) and press Delete.

To hide a motion trail

    Select the motion trail in the Outliner (it will be named something like motionTrail1Handle) and press Ctrl + H. To show it again, select it in the Outliner and press Shift + H.
