Pose Type
When you add a new pose, you can specify how you want that pose to be evaluated with the
Swing,
Twist, and
Swing and Twist options. Poses are solved only against poses with the same pose type.
These options determine whether this pose is activated by the joint's swing orientation, twist orientation, or both.
- Swing is good for arm or leg movements that are up and down. An example of using Swing is when a pectoral corrective shape is activated during an arm raise. In Swing mode, when the arm twists while raised, the pectoral corrective shape will still be active as opposed to the case where the same corrective is Swing and Twist.
- Twist is good for an arm or leg twisting on its Z axis, like a roll. For example, if the forearm twist is driven by the wrist joint, forearm and bicep corrective shapes for the twisting motion of the forearm can be set to Twist. This means that when the wrist bends forward, the twisting corrective shape will still be active.
- Swing and Twist allows for any type of orientation movement.
Create Pose Shape
creates a corrective blend shape associated with the pose, if there isn't already one.
