Dots (vertices) create the framework for your polygons.
To drop dots with Quad Draw
- Make sure the
Quad Draw Tool is turned on. See
Retopologize a mesh with Quad Draw.
- Set a reference mesh.
A reference mesh is the model you want to retopologize. If you don't set a reference mesh, the
Quad Draw tool automatically snaps to the grid.
- (Optional) Set
Symmetry appropriately in the
Modeling Toolkit if you want to create symmetrical dots across an axis.
- Click anywhere on the reference mesh.
A green dot appears and snaps to the surface of the reference mesh.
- Click anywhere on the reference mesh.
A green dot appears and snaps to the surface of the reference mesh.
- (Optional) Drag a dot to a new location to reposition it.
- (Optional) Ctrl + Shift-click a single dot to remove it, or in the
Modeling Toolkit panel, open
Quad Draw Options, and click
Clear Dots to remove all of the dots from the reference mesh.
- Continue to drop dots until you are ready to create polygons. See
