Two new analysis types are introduced as technical previews:
For more information, see Solve in Explicit.

A new Element Deletion option is available for explicit analysis types to support the deletion of specified idealizations based on physical property changes. For more information, see Add Element Deletion.

A new Material option supports Rigid configuration for Isotropic and Orthotropic 2D materials, which are often used in explicit analysis. For more information, see Isotropic or Orthotropic 2D.

A new Rigid (Explicit) constraint type is introduced for defining enforced zero displacements or zero rotations on a rigid body.

A new Rigid Motion (Explicit) load type is introduced that enforces time-varying displacements and rotations on a rigid body.

Used only in explicit dynamics analysis, this is a material in which the volumetric and deviatoric response can be specified with independent plasticity models. This material can be used only with solid elements. For more information, see Crushable Foam.

The settings for solver surface contacts now include options for Self Contact and Delete Contact.

A new Prompt for Solution Complete is provided, giving users the option to either see a dialog with a message that the solution is complete, and click the dialog to display the solution, or if this option is unchecked, see completed solution results appear directly, without displaying the dialog.

For Nonlinear Static and Nonlinear Transient solutions, the default deformation scale is now set to Actual.
