Open the Central Model of a Server-Based Workshared Project

In Revit, you can navigate to the Revit Server Network to open a central model stored on a Revit Server.

The BIM manager, team manager, or Revit administrator can use this procedure to open the central model for certain types of administrative tasks.

Team members may also need to open the central model to create a local copy. For instructions, see Create a Local Copy of a Central Model.

Note: You cannot open models stored on a Revit Server using Windows Explorer. You must be in the Revit application.

1. Click File tab Open.
2. In the left pane of the Open dialog, click (Revit Server Network).
3. Select the server that hosts the model.
4. Select the model, and click Open.
