Remove Graphic Display Overrides for Element Categories

Remove graphic display overrides for element categories when no longer needed in a view.

  1. Open the view in which you want to remove graphic overrides.
  2. Right-click an element in the drawing area, and click Override Graphics in ViewBy Category.

    The View-Specific Category Graphics dialog shows the current visibility and graphic display settings for the selected category.

  3. To remove graphic overrides for this category only, click Reset, and click OK.
  4. To remove graphic overrides for other element categories, do the following:
    1. In the View-Specific Category Graphics dialog, click Open the Visibility Graphics dialog.
    2. If necessary, click the appropriate tab in the Visibility/Graphics dialog (Model Categories, Annotation Categories, or Imported Categories).

      If you are editing element categories in a linked Revit model

      1. Click the Revit Links tab.
      2. Click the button in the Display Settings column.
      3. In the RVT Link Display Settings dialog, click Custom.
      4. Click the appropriate tab (Model Categories, Annotation Categories, or Imported Categories).
      5. Select Custom from the drop-down menu.
    3. Highlight a category row or rows.
    4. Click the Override button for the line or pattern to edit.
    5. Click Clear Overrides.
    6. Click Apply to view your changes, and click OK to exit the Visibility/Graphics dialog.

When you remove a graphic display override, the element category displays in the view according to the settings specified in the Object Styles dialog, or according to the hierarchy of element visibility overrides.
