In this tutorial, you will learn how to add filters to fields in your project schedules.
This video demonstrates the following:
Filter and customize schedules to focus on selected fields and parameters.
By filtering your schedule, you can more easily view relevant objects in your Revit model.
Navigate to the schedule section of the project browser.
Click the Door schedule.
The door schedule sheet displays each door in the Revit model, along with information such as dimensions.
Click Edit next to Fields under the Properties palette.
This opens the Schedule Properties window which allows you to edit filter preferences, schedule appearance, and which fields appear in your schedule.
Here, you can use the Fields tab to determine which parameter fields appear in your schedule.
You can add or remove parameters from schedule fields.
Click the Filter tab to customize your schedule filter.
Say you want to filter your schedule to show only doors found on the second floor.
In this project, doors with a mark number beginning with the number 2 belong on the second floor.
Under 'Filter By' select 'Mark' from the drop down menu which corresponds to the door mark number.
Next select 'Begins with' in the next drop down menu.
Lastly, type '2' in the text field. .
Click OK.
Your filter has now been applied to the Door schedule.
You can duplicate and rename this schedule to create new schedules uses additional filters. To make door schedules for each floor, you can duplicate and rename the existing schedule and apply the filters, 'Begins with 1' and 'Begins with 3'.
Click the Furniture schedule from the Project Browser and click Edit next to Formatting from the Properties panel.
select Cost under the Field section and click the Hidden Field checkbox under Field Formatting.
This option keeps the parameter field information accessible but doesn't display the field appear in your schedule.
Click OK.
The fields we removed from the schedule view are now hidden.
