Revit allows you to organize your workspace and the open views of your model. Organizing the open views can help you understand your design and more easily make edits to the model.

To open additional views of a model, double-click the view title in the Project Browser. As views are opened, additional tabs are added along the top of the canvas area. Select a tab to switch to that view. Close the view by clicking the "X" on the tab.

To see all open views at once, on the View tab of the Ribbon, click Tile Views. Use the Navigation bar in any of the views to zoom the contents of the current window or all the tiled window to fit.

Manually re-position a view by clicking the tab of the view and dragging it to a new position. A preview of the new position displays as you drag the view. For example, you could position the view to add a tab to an existing view, or you could position the view to create a new window. You can drag tabs outside of the Revit window and place them on the windows desktop, or even onto a second monitor.

Click Tab Views to combine all open views back to a single view with tabs. Select Close Inactive to close all open tabs and views except for the currently-active view. Views positioned outside of the Revit application frame are not affected.

Organize views of your model to make it easier to make changes and understand your model.
