Use the System Inspector

Use the System Inspector to view the properties for a selected duct or pipe system.

Use the System Inspector to examine specific sections or sub-sections of a system. When a section or sub-section is highlighted, the inspector shows information about the pressure loss, static pressure and flow for that section. You can click a section to retain the flow information in the view and highlight another section to compare the information for both sections. Information at terminal sections show total pressure loss for the path and the excess pressure for the path compared to the worst case path. The worst case path is shown in red. Arrows show the flow direction for all sections.

Note: A system must be well connected in order to access the System Inspector tool.
  1. Open a view with a duct or pipe system.
Note: The System Inspector is not available for Fire Protection Systems.
  2. Select a system, and click Modify | Duct/Pipe tabAnalysis panel System Inspector to activate tools on the System Inspector tab.
  3. Click System Inspector tabSystem Inspector panel Inspect.

Arrows appear along the length of the system to show the direction of flow.

  4. Highlight a section or sub-section in the system. The flow, static pressure, and pressure loss information appears as a tag for the highlighted section. The arrows and flag are color-coded. Red indicates segments with greater static pressure.
  5. Click to retain the flow information in the view.

The information remains until you click another section or sub-section, or until you dismiss the System Inspector.

  6. Click Finish to apply your changes or Cancel to dismiss the System Inspector without applying your changes to the system.
