You can use linework to achieve the desired effect when several edges of model components project onto the same line.
Architectural example: In an elevation view, a door opening coincides with some edges of a door frame. In this case, the Linework tool may not immediately produce the desired results, because each of the coincident edges is treated as a separate line.
To apply a dashed line style to one of 3 coincident edges, for example, apply the <Invisible lines> style to 2 of the edges. (See Use the Linework Tool.) Then apply a dashed style (such as <Demolished>) to the third edge.
