Analytical Node Instance Properties

Modify instance properties to change a node's grid constraints, associated level, connection status, and more.

To change instance properties, select the element and change its properties on the Properties palette.

Name Description
Constraints
Moves With Grids checkbox If checked, the analytical node placed on a grid will follow the position of the grid when the grid is moved.
Location Mark Displays the closest grid intersection and the distance to it from the selected node, on both directions.
Associated Level Offset Displays the offset value for the associated level of the selected node.
Associated Level Displays which level is associated to the selected node. The drop-down displays all the available levels. The level offset is automatically calculated when you select a new associated level.
Structural
Connection Status Specifies whether or not the selected node is connected to other elements, such as analytical members or analytical panel edges.
Dimensions (for hosted nodes on a member or edge)
Measurement Type Displays how the distance to the reference node is introduced. The drop-down displays all the available options.
Normalized Curve Parameter / Non- Normalized Curve Parameter / Segment Length / Normalized Segment Length / Chord Length Displays the value representing the distance from the reference node. This parameter varies depending on the option selected in the Measurement Type parameter drop-down.
Measure From Displays from which end of the analytical member the hosted node is positioned, either beginning or end. In the workspace, you can click on the arrows to toggle between Beginning and End.

Dimensions (for hosted nodes on a surface)
Hosted U Parameter Available for points hosted on surfaces. The location of the reference point along the U grid. The parameter is a distance in project units from the center of the surface. This applies only to reference points hosted on a surface.
Hosted V Parameter Available for points hosted on surfaces. The location of the reference point along the V grid. The parameter is a distance in project units of the surface. This applies only to reference points hosted on a surface.
Identity Data
Node Number Specifies a unique identifying number for the analytical node of the analytical element.
Comments Displays a comment that you enter or select from the drop-down list. Once entered, you can select a comment for other instances of elements in the same category, regardless of type or family.
