Install or Uninstall the Advance Steel Extension for Revit

Check system requirements for the extension, download it from the Autodesk Desktop App, and run the installer.

Install

Download the Advance Steel Extension for Revit installer from Autodesk Access, and run it. After the installation is complete, you may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the extension. When successfully installed, the Advance Steel Extension for Revit panel is displayed on the Add-Ins tab in the ribbon.

Note: The Advance Steel Extension for Revit is available as an English installation only (the content and UI are English only). Also, mapping lines that are available inside the GTCMapping.mdb database point to the English version of the Revit families. If you need to use other specific localized Revit families, you need to manually map the profiles when you import a model in Revit.
Important: Revit and Advance Steel need to be installed in the same language in order to successfully transfer or synchronize SMLX files between the two applications.

To uninstall the Advance Steel Extension for Revit, close the Autodesk product if you are running it and proceed to uninstalling it from the Windows Control Panel Programs Programs and Features or Add/Remove Programs, just as you would uninstall any other application from your system.
