Add-On Data Conflict when Reloading or Syncing

In a workshared file, when you try to reload latest or sync with central, the Add-On Data conflict message displays.

Issue

Schemas are data structures defined by an add-on for storing data in the model's extensible storage. These data schemas may be stored in the model, a family, or in a linked model. Schemas should have unique IDs. This issue generally occurs when a vendor creates a new schema without making a new unique ID.

You are prevented from performing a synchronization action with the central model because of a schema conflict.

Solution

Try the action again.

  1. Save the local file.
  2. Close Revit.
  3. Open the local file.
  4. Try the action a second time.
If the above steps fail again, take the following actions:
  1. Save the local file.
  2. Close Revit.
  3. Relaunch Revit and open the central model as detached.
  4. Open the local model.
  5. At the Add-On Data conflict dialog, Click "Continue loading the file".
  6. Close the detached central model.
  7. Try ro sync with central again.
