Linked BIM 360 document not found.

Issue: Users reported that when using the Reload From option to reload a cloud workshared model stored on BIM 360 Team, the following message is received: "Linked document BIM 360://<Project Name>/<Model Name>.rvt not found. The link will be unloaded." The Revit journal file records lines similar to the following preceding the error:

0:<
System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[Autodesk.Revit.RS.Common.ClientServer.DataContract.Model.ModelIncompatibleRelinquishFault]:
Internal Server Error
0:< Collaborate: IsUpToDate in NeedToUpdateLocalCopy: Autodesk.Revit.Exceptions.CentralModelException:
The local model's elements have been relinquished.

Status: Investigation of the incident is complete and a resolution has not been determined at this time.

Additional Information:

This issue can occur when a force relinquish command is performed on the linked model, and the user has not reopened the link since this has happened.

Workaround:

To avoid this behavior, do the following:

  1. Open the link that will not reload.
  2. Synchronize (without making any changes).
  3. Open the original (host) model.
  4. Try reloading the link again.

Note: If the above steps do not solve the problem, audit and purge the linked model (after Step 1) and continue with Step 2.

Alternate Workaround:

To resolve this issue, follow these steps in order to reload the linked model:

  1. Close all Revit sessions.
  2. Clear the corrupt/damaged cloud workshared model or outdated link from the system in Revit.
  3. Restart Revit and open the affected host project file -
  4. Revit will rebuild these Cache folders and re-download the dataset from the Revit Cloud Worksharing Service.

Note: Verify that Revit is running on the latest build version to ensure that the Revit Cloud Worksharing service is updated.
