You can create view types for plans, elevations, sections, 3D views, drafting views, legends, and schedules.
Video: Create View Types
- Open a view for which you want to create a view type, or click the view name in the Project Browser.
- In the Properties palette, click Edit Type.
- In the Type Properties dialog, click Duplicate.
- Enter a name for the new view type and click OK.
- In the Type Properties dialog for the new view type, specify a value for each Graphics parameter.

- For
View template applied to new views, select the view template that will be applied to new views of this type, as follows:
- Click the button in the Value column.
- In the Apply View Template dialog, under View Templates, use the discipline filter and the view type filter to limit the list of view templates.
- Under Names, select a view template.
- (Optional) Under View Properties, change properties of the view template.

As an alternative, you can click Duplicate and create a new view template using the selected template as a starting point. See

- Click OK.
- For
New views are dependent on template, select the check box if you want future changes to the view template to apply to views that were created using the view template.
- Click OK.
