To add an ordinate dimension for a linear dimension style, you need to edit the Dimension String type parameter. Create a new ordinate linear dimension style so that any continuous dimensions in the project are not affected when you edit the parameter.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Text Orientation | Specify where to align the dimension text, with the witness line or the dimension line. This setting is disabled when the Read Convention parameter is Horizontal. |
Text Position | Specify the text position, at the end of the witness line or next to the witness line. |
Origin Visibility | Specify visibility of the origin witness line for the ordinate dimension (this is the first witness line in the string). Options are:
|
Origin Tick Mark | Specify the tick mark for the dimension origin. This setting is disabled when Origin Visibility is set to None. |
Dimension Line Style | Specify the dimension line style. Options are:
|
Length of Segments | Specify the dimension line segment length. This setting is enabled when Dimension Line Style is Segmented. |
The new dimension style displays in the Type Selector. You can now use this ordinate dimension style when adding an aligned dimension or a linear dimension in a drawing.
