Revit LT ships with a library of content you can use in your designs. The default content can be installed locally loaded into your models by using standard browsing methods to locate and load the content you want to use. As an alternative, use Load Autodesk Family to browse for default content in the cloud and load on demand into your models.

In this example we want to add some furniture items to this living room. Currently there are no living room furniture families in the model. Load the furniture content needed with Load Autodesk Family. On the Insert tab, click load Autodesk Family to load the browser.

In the browser use the browse tree to narrow the content displayed. Here the furniture category is selected and then further narrowed by selecting seating. Click to select multiple items in the dialog. Select a sofa and a chair. Clicking an item again will un-select it or clear all selections at one time using the control in the dialog. Once the families you want to load are selected, click load to load the selected families into your model. This only loads the families into your model, you will still need to use a command, depending on the content loaded, to place an instance the family into your model.

Open the browser again by clicking Load Autodesk Family on the ribbon. The browser remembers the position you were in from the previous session. Click a point on the browse tree to switch to a different location, or click Rest filters to go back to the top of the library.

Use the search bar to find specific families in the library. The search is based on the family file name and content path name. For example use the search term "credenza" to find a credenza for the living room.

Click the globe icon to the right of the search bar to change the content library you are currently browsing. Select a different language and region to access content from other locations.

Use Load Autodesk Family to avoid the need to install default Autodesk content locally on your network. Easily browse and load default content into your models.
