Create Property Lines

Add property lines by sketching in the site plan or entering survey data directly into the project.

  1. Open a site plan view.
  2. Click Site tabModify Site panel (Property Line).

To sketch property lines

  1. In the Create Property Line dialog, select Create by sketching.
  2. Click (Pick Lines) or other sketch tools to sketch lines.
  3. Sketch the property lines.

Lines should form a closed loop. If you sketch an open loop, and click Finish Property Line, Revit LT issues a warning that it will not calculate the area. You can ignore the warning to continue, or close the loop.

To enter distances and bearings

Revit LT aligns the survey data with True North.

  1. In the Create Property Lines dialog, select Create by entering distances and bearings.

As an example, the correct syntax for a distance would follow this structure: 32' 2 153/256". When working with a fraction of a foot, use a decimal to receive accurate results.

The correct syntax for a bearing value would follow this format: 82° 30' 00".

  2. In the Property Lines dialog, click Insert, and add the distances and bearings from your survey data.
  3. (Optional) Describe a property line as an arc.
    1. For Distance and Bearing, enter values that describe a line segment between 2 points on the arc.
    2. For Type, select Arc.
    3. For Radius, enter a value.

The radius value must be greater than half the length of the line segment. The larger the radius, the larger the circle becomes, resulting in a flatter arc.

    4. For L/R, select L if the arc appears to the left of the line segment. Select R if the arc appears to the right of the line segment.
  4. Insert additional lines as needed.
  5. Click Up and Down to modify the order of the property lines.
  6. In the drawing area, move the property lines to their exact placement, and click to place.
Note: You can snap the property line to a benchmark using the Move tool.
