FBX transfers files from one file format to another.
In the Menu Bar, click Edit > Preferences, then on the left side of the dialog box, select Import/Export > File Type > FBX. The preferences are grouped in the Import and Export tabs found along the top. After making any changes, press Apply to apply them and Save to save the changes. To exit and ignore any changes made, click the X.

This section contains export options for setting the version, format, and vertex colors for the exported file and more.
File Specific Options
Contains the following file specific export options:
Cameras - Includes all existing cameras in the exported scene.
Keep Default Camera - Sets the default state for exporting default cameras (Perspective, Side, Top, and Front). It is disabled by default.
Lights - Includes all existing lights in the exported scene.
Environment Geometries - Includes the default environment geometry switch in the exported scene.
Version - Sets the version of FBX used to write the exported scene.
Format - Sets the format used in the exported scene. Choose from Binary and ASCII.
Export Vertex Colors - Includes all existing VRED ambient occlusion calculations as vertex colors in the exported scene.
This results in unmerged triangle vertices.

Contains the following geometry export options:
Meshes - Sets the default behavior to export meshes, instead of excluding them.
Surfaces - Sets the default behavior of exported surfaces. Choose from keeping surfaces as surfaces or converting them into meshes.
Remove B-Sides - Sets the default behavior to remove shapes and components set as B-Sides, when enabled. VRED defines B-Sides comparable to the No Show feature in CAD software.
