For additional information on area lights, see the following:
Video captions: Activate Raytracing. Open the Material Editor, create a plastic material, then allocate it to a ground geometry. Select the default environment, activate Is Visible, and adjust the Exposure and Color Correction to 0. Now, there is no more lighting in the scene. Open the Light Editor in the Scene menu and create a spotlight. Open the Area Light section and click Enable. Double-click the spotlight and transform it. You can see the disk-like geometry that emits light in your scene. Scale the area light. You’ll notice, light intensity is linked to light size. The bigger the light, the brighter it shines. In Shape, you can change the shape of the area light. Activate Visible in Reflections in order to ensure your light is visible even in specular reflections. You can always see the correct shadow cast on the correct reflection, which depends on the shape of the area light. Position your light according to your personal and artistic preferences and create breathtaking renderings.
