Video captions: Create a brushed metal material and assign it to a geometry. Use Brushed Metal Material for every metal surface, be it brushed aluminum or glossy gold. The Brushed Metal Material’s Diffuse Color defines the object’s base tint. The Glossy Color, however, indicated the reflection’s color. Usually, this value should be white because many materials do not have a colored reflection. With Roughness, you can define the material’s roughness, as the roughness of a metallic material can differ after editing its surfaces, you can set the U and V’s roughnesses separately. The lower the roughness, the smaller and more precise the highlight. The greater the roughness, the more diffuse, irregular, and blurred the light reflection acts upon the material. With Reflectivity, you can define the reflection’s power. You can also choose from many presets in the many settings. By choosing a preset like aluminum, the diffuse color and reflectivity will be adjusted to mimic the real properties of aluminum.
