To add a new parametric model to the Parts Editor.

Import a parametric model in .IPT format and add it to the Infrastructure Parts Editor library as a shape template.

Create custom parametric shape templates using Autodesk Inventor. Once you have created a custom parametric shape template with Inventor, you can use the Infrastructure Shape Utilities ribbon tab in Autodesk Inventor to export your shape template to .IPT format so that it can be brought into the Infrastructure Parts Editor.

1. Open the Infrastructure Parts Editor.
2. Select a part family in the Navigation panel.
3. Click the Shapes tab.
4. Click New Shape Template in the Shapes section.
5. Click the ellipses button next to Select Inventor parametric template to open an .IPT file from your local system.
6. A preview of the part displays and the Parameters field lists the names of key dimensions that were exposed in the .IPT file when it was created.
7. Click Next.
