For each project it is important to verify the Ultimate Limit State (ULS), as well as the Serviceability Limit State (SLS).
The Ultimate Limit State (ULS) and Serviceability Limit State (SLS) criteria are used to verify that the structure remains stable and can resist multiple loads.
It is important to check that the structure satisfies these criteria in order to ensure the safety of the people or goods inside the structure.
Robot also considers Accidental (ACC) and Fire (FIRE) criteria.
Moving load cases
Robot can generate combinations with moving load cases. However, the following limitations apply:
- After a linear combination with moving load cases is generated, 3 additional auxiliary cases are defined (similar to code combinations). These cases display on the selection list of load cases. A combination generated by you is available only in the combination dialog and table. You cannot request results for it, because the results for all components are obtained. (A combination defined with moving load cases includes component cases, similar to a code combination.)
- Quadratic combinations (COMB QUA) cannot include moving load cases or combinations that contain such cases. Results are unavailable for them.
- Linear combinations can contain several moving load cases (moving load cases can be nested). You can apply quadratic combinations in linear combinations that include moving load cases.
