Use this option to define additional steel bar type code parameters. Access the parameters by clicking the More button in the Member Definition - Parameters dialog.
The following bar type parameters are defined :
Use this field to select which load type is applied to the member. Choose from the load cases considered in the steel code. The load is based on the code requirements during the calculation of code coefficients (buckling, lateral buckling). The character of the loads acting on the member in one or both planes of the sectional axis is defined. During automatic calculations, when the load character changes with the load case, the type "bar with two end moments" is the default. When the calculation case is selected manually or the internal forces entered, you can exactly define the character of the load.

During production, some constants undergo thermal conditioning, such as annealing. Verification for this type of steel is performed differently than for common steel. This differentiation is necessary before performing any calculations. When the option is selected, the thermally conditioned steel is used in calculations.

Additionally, in the case of Polish code PN-90/B-03200, you define Beta coefficient and the plastic reserve coefficient Alpha. When applying the Polish steel code during calculations, for members made of sections with corrugated webs, the web capacity is automatically reduced by 20 MPa with respect to the strength of flanges (this assumption is adopted in the technical documentation). You can also manually define the value of the web strength to force the strength of a corrugated web. In the Design strength of a corrugated web field (options for Polish steel code PN-90/B-03200) select the Modified value fdw option, next in the edit field - and specify the strength value used in calculations.
In the lower part of the dialog, you can define the conditions for a round pipe case. If the Unidirectional bending of pipes option is selected, then, for this type of section, the program determines a bending moment equal to a sum of moments operating along axis Y and Z; the resultant moment is the basis for bar design.
