This option selects structure elements using a defined grid of structure axes. Clicking Edit menu > Select Special> Structure Axes displays the following dialog:
At the top of the dialog, you can select the type of structure axes (Cartesian or cylindrical). Also, you can determine the range for selecting structure elements along the X, Y, and Z axes of the global coordinate system. You need to specify the beginning and ending positions of the structure axes defining the interval for selecting bars or objects.
At the bottom of the dialog, the following options let you determine selection parameters using structure axes:
- When only whole bars/objects is selected, only those structure bars or objects that are entirely within the selection range of structure axes are selected. If this option is cleared, structure bars or objects that are positioned at least partially within the selection range of structure axes are selected.
- The following selection modes are available:
- When Create new selection is selected, bars or objects selected in the range of structure axes create a new selection. If a bar or object selection already exists; it is replaced with a new selection.
- When Add to current selection is selected, the bars or objects selected in the range of structure axes are added to the existing bar or object selection.
- When Remove from current selection is selected, the existing bar or object selection is removed. No bar or object is selected.
Clicking Selection filters opens the Graphical Selection Filter dialog.
