Wind

Opening the Snow/Wind Load dialog and clicking the Wind tab displays the following dialog.

In the upper part of the dialog there are the following options:

• Basic wind speed Vb - Specifies the basic wind speed Vb
• Local effects - Accounts for local effects affecting a value of the wind pressure
• Wind directionality factor Kd - Specifies the wind directionality factor Kd
• Topography factor k3 - Specifies the topography factor k3.

Below are the selection lists:

• Importance of the structure - Specifies the factor k4
• Terrain category - Specifies the terrain category. This value and the structure height are used to calculate a value of the parameter k2.

At the bottom of the dialog is the Solidity ratio option. It is available only for isolated roofs.

Click the Coefficient button to open the dialog to define coefficients of the wind load.
