3ds Max can import and export the text-based (ASCII) Scalable Vector Graphic format SVG. An SVG file contains vector descriptions, potentially including stroked outlines, color, fill and other attributes.
Note: The SVG specification is large and contains attributes that are not in part or fully supported. Likewise, specifications can be encoded in multiple ways and may not always be parsed as intended. 2D rasterizations of vector data as found in a web browser may not match exactly to how they are interpreted as 3D representations.
Important: If an SVG file does not import as expected check the status bar to see if any warnings are provided. It is possible that the file may have an encoding not currently supported.
