What's New in v1.4.0

This release has important performance improvements, bug fixes and stability improvements.

Performance Improvements

Retopology's base algorithm, Autodesk ReForm, has been updated, resulting in improved performance and stability. While the performance boost may vary depending on the input mesh, processing times are now up to 30% faster.

Note: This update is only available in 3ds Max 2023 and 3ds Max 2024.

Fixed Issues
Resolved an edge case issue with ReForm's Pre-Process that could result in bad UV data being generated through the Retopology process when the "UV" Edge Constraint is used. Scenes with this issue will need to rerun the ReForm compute on the Retopology modifier to see a change in the UV data. MAXX-72007

Known Issues and Limitations
When uninstalling the Autodesk Retopology Tools 1.1.0 (or previous) for 3ds Max, the message "Install Error 1603" appears. Workaround: Un-install any previous version of the Retopology Tools installed on your system, restart your PC, then install 1.4.0.
