Use this procedure to copy or move tools between tool palettes, tool packages, or tool catalogs.
You can also open multiple Content Browser windows and drag items from one window to another.
- Click .
- Open the tool catalog containing the tool to copy or move.
- Open the item containing the tool to copy or move:
If the tool is in… |

open the category for that tool palette, if necessary, and then click the tool palette. |
a tool package in the tool catalog |
open the category for that tool package, if necessary, and then click the tool package. |
- Right-click the tool, and select an action:
If you want to… |

add a copy of the tool in another location |
click Copy. |
move the tool to another location, deleting it from its original location |
click Cut. |
- If the destination of the tool is in a different tool catalog, click to return to the catalog library, and then click the tool catalog to open it.
- Open the destination of the tool:

open the category for that tool palette, if necessary, and then click the tool palette. |

open the category for that tool package, if necessary, and then click the tool package. |
- In the right pane of the Content Browser window, right-click in a blank area, and click Paste.
Note: If there is no Paste option on the shortcut menu, then the pointer is probably positioned over a catalog item, even though the space may appear to be blank. Move the pointer and try again.
