Use this procedure to apply the properties of a tool to an existing object.
You can apply the properties of a tool to an existing object in two ways:
- Apply the properties of a tool to an object of the same type: For example, apply the properties of a wall tool to an existing wall. All object tools have this functionality.
- Apply the properties of a tool to a different object type: Using this method, you convert the object to an object of the same type as the tool. For example, when you apply the properties of a wall tool to a polyline, the polyline is converted to a wall with the settings defined in the wall tool. Depending on their type, various object tool types may have commands for converting other objects. For detailed information, see the chapters for the individual objects.
- Open the tool palette that contains the tool with the properties you want to apply to a different object.
- Select the tool, and right-click.
