HPPICKMODE (System Variable)

Indicates the current method for specifying hatch areas.

0	Specify points within enclosed areas

2 or 3	Specify points to draw a closed shape

Note: After you start the HATCH command, the default method can be changed from the Hatch contextual tab, Boundaries panel on the ribbon where you choose either the Pick Points or Select option.
