Issues With Using Blocks in AM2DHIDE Hide Situations (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

If the background contains a block, when you create a AM2DHIDE hide situation , the hide situation modifies its block definition.

To prevent the hide situation from affecting occurrences of the block elsewhere in the drawing, the AM2DHIDE command converts the block to an anonymous block, by default. If necessary, you can change this default behavior.

The System Editor key Acad/M > Hide > BlockRenaming controls how the AM2DHIDE command handles blocks.

Value of BlockRenaming

Behavior

0

1

Breaks the association with other occurrences of the block and renames it, appending a time stamp to its name.

2

Opens a dialog box enabling you to choose how the program handles the block.
