About Selecting the Project Folder (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

The Select the project folder step of the BOM Migration wizard enables you to select the folder containing the drawings to be migrated.

If a selected folder contains subfolders, the drawings in these folders are migrated as well.

If a drawing uses a Microsoft Excel workbook as its parts list, select the drawing and use the Attach button to bind it to the drawing. You can specify the name of the worksheet (within the workbook) and the starting cell.

The wizard assumes the following when it processes a spreadsheet:

• The order of columns within the spreadsheet must be identical to the order of columns in the parts list in the reference drawing.
• The column headings within the spreadsheet must be identical to the column headings in the parts list in the Reference Drawing.

AutoCAD Mechanical toolset requires Microsoft Excel to be installed on your computer to be able to attach an Excel spreadsheet. If the spreadsheet was saved in a version of Excel newer than the version installed on your computer, it cannot be attached.

This step also captures if the wizard is to build the hierarchical relationship between drawings. If selected, the wizard compares the unique identifiers of the drawings and links the generated BOMs using the BOM attach workflow.
