Screw Connection Wizard - Location Step (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Use this step to specify where and how the screw connection is to be inserted.

Provides a graphical legend for parameters such as GL1, Gap and GL2. This graphic is context sensitive and changes depending on the parts you selected in the previous step.

Insertion Point

Sets the insertion point for the screw connection. You can specify the insertion point by typing the coordinates in the X,Y,Z boxes or by clicking the button and indicating the insertion point from model space.

Plate 1

Sets details of the first plate in the screw connection. This option is unavailable if you don't setup at least one hole from the Selection step of this wizard. You can specify the thickness of the plate by typing the value in the GL1 box or by clicking the button and measuring the thickness of the plate in model space. If structure is enabled, you will see an additional drop-down list box that lets you specify the component view the hole must belong to.

Gap

Sets details of the gap between two plates being connected via the screw connection. This option is unavailable if you choose only one hole from the Selection step of this wizard. You can specify the thickness of the plate by typing the value in the Gap box or by clicking the button and measuring the gap in model space.

Plate 2

Sets details of the second plate in the screw connection. This option is unavailable if you choose only one hole from the Selection step of this wizard. You can specify the thickness of the plate by typing the value in the GL2 box or by clicking the button and measuring the thickness of the plate in model space. If structure is enabled, you will see an additional drop-down list box that lets you specify the component view the hole must belong to.
