About Editing the Parts List Data and Layout (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

When you create a parts list, its layout conforms to the settings saved with the current drafting standard.

Once a parts list is created, you can override most settings (See the Configuration and Setup Guide for information on how to change the defaults). Some of the changes you can make include the following:

• Add a new category.

  Add a user-defined category to the parts list. By default, standard GOST categories with item in the BOM are added to the parts list.

• Change Category

  Move items between categories.

• Add an empty row.

  Insert an empty row into the parts list. You cannot add a custom part in the empty row, use the BOM dialog box to add custom parts.

• Move rows.

  Use buttons in the dialog box to move a category or row up or down in the parts list.

• Renumber items.

  Automatically change item numbers using the Renumber Items dialog box.
