AM: Content Tab of the Options Dialog Box (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Use this tab to set the default values for Content Libraries.

Content libraries management

File Locations

Specifies path, selection group, and standards.

Standard Content Filters

Specifies filters for standard content.

Content behavior on insertion

Hide background objects

Automatically creates a hide situation when the standard part is placed on top of another object in the drawing area. If mechanical structure is enabled, AutoCAD Mechanical toolset uses the AMSHIDE command to create the hide situation. If not, it uses the AM2DHIDE command.

2D Hide button

Specifies whether hidden edges displayed as dashed lines or not displayed at all. The button face graphically shows the current selection.

Draw centerlines

Draws centerlines when symmetric standard parts are inserted to the drawing.

Draw standard/custom parts on standard parts layers

Instructs system to create standard parts and features on the Standard Parts Layers (layer names end with the letter N). If this option is not selected, standard parts are created on regular mechanical layers and you loose the ability to turn on/off the visibility of standard parts.

Enforce Projection Length Rules for Screw Connection

Sets the projection length of centerlines for screw connections to follow a rule like that of VDI 2230, where the projection length of the screw centerline should have a length of 1.5 times the length of the nut associated with it.

Object properties overrides

Create standard/custom parts on layer group

Specifies that standard parts are created on a specific layer group and provides space for you to specify the name of the layer group.

Create front view of standard/custom features on hidden layer

Instructs system to draw front views of standard features using hidden lines.

Default representation for standard content

Specifies whether standard content are represented in drawings as Standard, Symbolic, or Simplified. The image shows the results of the selection.
