View Dialog Box (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Use this Dialog Box to define and create a viewport in layout mode, or edit a viewport.

Scale

Sets the scale for the viewport. Select a preset value, or enter any desired scale. For example, to specify a scale of 3:1, enter 3.0 or 3.1 (which is converted to 3:1).

<

Temporarily reverts to the drawing. Then you can select a scale-defining entity (for example, another scale area, a dimension, or a scale text) to set the scale of the viewport you are editing.

border <

Sets a scale area in the drawing. This scale area sets the shape, size, and scale of the viewport. This way, the viewport is attached to the scale area. Changes to this scale area are automatically adapted by the viewport.

Midpoint

Attaches the viewport to a point that you select in your drawing. This point is the view target for the viewport. Midpoint does not specify the shape or the scale of the viewport.

Detach

Detaches the viewport from either the scale area or the midpoint it is attached to.

Zoom according to Scale

Sets the viewport zoom factor to reflect the scale you selected. This action is performed after you close the dialog box.

Perform Rescaling

Rescales objects in your drawing. Also affects the scale of dimension text height and symbol sizes.

Note:

This option is selected automatically if the scale is changed.

New <

Redefines the border of the viewport.

Move <

Moves the border of the viewport.

View active

Activates the viewport.

Hidden Lines (hideplot)

The viewport uses the Hideplot command for hiding lines.
