Part Properties Tab (Pressure Pipe Properties Dialog Box)

Use this tab to view or edit properties associated with this pressure pipe.

General

Changing the reference surface and alignment in this dialog box changes the reference for the existing pressure network part. To change the reference surface and alignment only for new parts added to this pressure network, you can change the references on the Layout Settings tab of the Pressure Pipe Network Properties dialog box.

Reference Surface

Specifies the reference surface for the pressure pipe. The surface provides elevation data to the pressure network objects.

Reference Alignment

Specifies the reference alignment for the pressure pipe. The alignment provides station and offset data to the pressure network objects for labeling purposes.

Geometry

These properties specify characteristics such as the start and end parts, bearing, station data, offsets, slope data, elevation data, and more.

Note: When the Start Centerline Elevation, Start Invert Elevation, Start Northing, or Start Easting are modified on the Part Properties tab, the Start Part of the pressure pipe is disconnected (if connected to anything) and moved. When the End Centerline Elevation, End Invert Elevation, End Northing, or End Easting are modified in the Part Properties window, the End Part of the pressure pipe is disconnected (if connected to anything) and moved.
Start Part

Displays the name of the part at the start of the pipe.

End Part

Displays the name of the part at the end of the pipe.

Bearing

Displays the pipe’s bearing.

Start Station

Displays the pipe’s start station.

Note: The Station and Offset values are relative to the Reference Alignment.
End Station

Displays the pipe’s end station.

Start Offset

Displays the offset for the start of the pipe.

End Offset

Displays the offset for the end of the pipe.

Slope
Displays the pipe’s slope.
Note: Slope is not shown for pressure pipes that are vertically curved.
Pipe Start Easting

Specifies the easting of the pipe’s starting point.

Pipe Start Northing

Specifies the northing of the pipe’s starting point.

Pipe End Easting

Specifies the easting of the pipe’s ending point.

Pipe End Northing

Specifies the northing of the pipe’s ending point.

Start Centerline Elevation

Specifies the pipe’s starting point elevation according to the pipe’s centerline.

End Centerline Elevation

Specifies the pipe’s ending point elevation according to the pipe’s centerline.

Start Invert Elevation

Specifies the pipe’s starting point elevation according to the pipe’s invert. The invert is measured on the inside of the pipe.

End Invert Elevation

Specifies the pipe’s ending point elevation according to the pipe’s invert. The invert is measured on the inside of the pipe.

Start Outside Crown Elevation

Specifies the pipe’s starting point elevation according to the pipe’s crown (on the outside of the pipe).

End Outside Crown Elevation

Specifies the pipe’s ending point elevation according to the pipe’s crown (on the outside of the pipe).

2D Length

Displays the two-dimensional length of the pipe, measured as the distance between the (x,y) positions at the start and end connection points of the pipe. The 2D Length does not account for differences in elevation between the start and end points of the pipes.

3D Length

Displays the three-dimensional length of the pipe. The 3D Length does account for differences in elevation between the start and end points of the pipes.

Minimum Cover

Displays the minimum depth of cover along the entire length of pipe, from the top outside of the pipe to the reference surface.

Maximum Cover

Displays the maximum depth of cover along the entire length of pipe, from the top outside of the pipe to the reference surface.

Horizontal Radius

Displays the radius for pressure pipes that are curved in plan view.

Horizontal Chord Length

Displays the chord length for pressure pipes that are curved in plan view.

Horizontal Radius Point Northing

Displays the northing of the horizontal radius point for pressure pipes that are curved in plan view.

Horizontal Radius Point Easting

Displays the easting of the horizontal radius point for pressure pipes that are curved in plan view.

Vertical Radius

Displays the radius for pressure pipes that are curved in profile view.

Part Data

These properties are read-only and show a variety of part characteristics.

Note: If a property listed in the Part Data section has a Value field that is blank, it means that the part does not have a value defined for that property in the part catalog. You can use the Catalog Editor (Autodesk.Aec.Content.CatalogEditor.exe, located in C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2025\C3D) to edit the metadata for the parts and assign values, and then you can recreate the parts in the drawing so they will have these property values and can be labeled with them. Edits that are made to the data in the Catalog Editor are not applied to existing parts in drawings.
