You can use selection-based keyboard shortcuts to perform your trim, slip, or slide operations (depending on the mode selected in the Editorial Mode box).
On the timeline, select the segment that you want to trim.
From the Editorial Mode box, select the trim mode that you want to perform (for example, Slip).
Use the keyboard shortcut appropriate to the action you want to perform (in the descriptions below, Trim refers to the selected trim mode).

If you know the amount of frames by which you want to trim, a quick way to perform the trim is by using the keypad to enter the amount into the calculator.
On the timeline, select the clip or cut you want to trim.
On the keyboard keypad, enter the number of frames by which you want to trim (positive or negative).
Press Enter.
