Environment File Location

Determine where the environment file is located.

There are several reasons you may want to modify the Helius PFA environment, but either do not want to or cannot modify the installed environment file:

• You lack the required privileges
• The machine is shared and you do not want to affect other users
• You only want to modify the environment file for one specific analysis

Helius PFA allows you to set a user-specific or job-specific environment file for these purposes. When Helius PFA runs, it will search for the environment file in the following order and use the first file it finds:

1. The working directory (where the job was submitted from)
2. Your home directory. This is determined by:
   1. The content of the HOME environment variable if it exists
   2. Otherwise the content of the HOMEDRIVE and HOMEPATH environment variables
3. The installation directory
