Unidirectional General Tab

Enter the lamina strengths.

The following field must be specified under the General tab (see image on previous page).

I - Lamina Strengths (required)

These are the standard lamina strengths. Helius PFA treats the lamina as transversely isotropic.

• +S11 (required): Tensile lamina strength in the fiber direction.
• +S22 (required): Tensile lamina strength in the transverse direction. (This strength will be equivalent to the +S33 strength.)
• -S11 (required): Compressive lamina strength in the fiber direction.
• -S22 (required): Compressive lamina strength in the transverse direction. (This strength will be equivalent to the -S33 strength.)
• S12 (required): Longitudinal shear strength of the lamina. (This strength will be equivalent to the S13 strength.)
• S23 (this value is neglected if it is left as 0): Intralaminar shear strength of the lamina.
