To work with Core Pins

Place a core pin

  1. In the Core/Cavity tab, click Place Core Pin.
  2. In the Place Core Pin dialog box, in Type, select a type of core pin.
  3. In the Placement group, select a method to place the core pin:
    • Linear

      In the graphics window, select a solid plane that is parallel to the XY plane. This plane is the start plane of the core pin. Then select two straight edges as the locating references. The two edges must be perpendicular to each other, and they must not be perpendicular to the selected plane.

    • Concentric

      In the graphics window, select a circle, arc edge, or cylinder face in which to locate the core pin. The axis direction of the selected object must be parallel to the Z axis.

  4. If you do not want the surface of the product to trim the core pin, clear the Trimmed by Product check box.
  5. If you are using a Cylindrical Core Pin, select the Anti-rotation check box to set the anti-rotation type and the parameters.
  6. Click the Clearance tab to set clearance parameters.
  7. Click Apply or OK.

Edit a core pin

  1. In the Mold Design browser, under Core Pins, right-click a core pin node, and then click Edit Feature.
  2. In the Place Core Pin dialog box, modify the parameters
  3. Click OK.

Delete a core pin

Add a trim participant for a core pin

  1. In the Mold Design browser under Core Pins, right-click a core pin node, and then click Add Participant.
  2. In the graphics window, select an insert or a core pin. The core pin relating to the core pin node trims the selected insert or core pin immediately.
