Calculate fillet weld joints spatially loaded

  1. On the ribbon, click Environments tab Convert panel Fillet Weld Calculator (Spatial) .
  2. Click More in the Calculation tab and select the calculation method.
  3. In the Calculation tab, enter input parameters.
  4. If desired and if selected the proper Weld Form, switch to the Fatigue Calculation tab to enter values for fatigue calculation.
  5. Click Calculate to calculate the joint. Result values are displayed in the Results area on the right side of the Calculation tab.
  6. Click OK to insert weld calculation into Autodesk Inventor.

This procedure creates an example using the sample specifications:

  1. Start the Fillet Weld (Spatial Load) Calculator.
  2. On the Calculation tab:
    • Select the Standard Calculation Procedure method from the Calculation of Statically Loaded Weld area.
    • Select the Weld Form: .
    • In the Weld Loads area, select first two buttons.
    • Set the Axial force to 2000 N.
    • Set the Bending Force to 1500 N.
    • Set the Beam Diameter to 80 mm.
    • Select the Weld Material - Structural Steel A572-Grade42.
    • Set the Safety Factor to 2.5.
  3. Click Calculate. See the results in the Results area.
  4. Click OK.
